Edward Teoh, Co-Founder and VP of Customers’ Success and Field Engineering

Edward Teoh leads Motivo’s engineering team that works hand in hand with the customer to deliver Motivo’s transformative results. He has worked in the semiconductor and software industry for more than 15 years.

Under Mr. Teoh’s direction, Motivo has reduced customer engagement time more than 3X. He developed Motivo’s M-Optimize™ algorithm to increase coverage and density and developed a methodology for seamless customer physical design flow integration. He currently leads a team of developers and field engineers to continue improving core Motivo technologies (M-Build™, M-Analytics™, & M-Optimize™) and to ensure Motivo completes each project without impacting the customer’s tape-out schedule.

Prior to Motivo, Mr. Teoh worked at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, where he developed the industry's first pattern database using pattern classification technology (supervised and unsupervised machine learning) to systematically collect potential yield detractor patterns and aggregate learning from different sources, for design and manufacturing process improvement. Earlier in his career, he worked for Agilent/Avago Technologies, where he lead multiple end-to-end projects from proof-of-concept to ASIC development involving image processing algorithm development and system design considerations. He led the team in developing the algorithm and ASIC solution for the revolutionary Nintendo's Wii controller.

Mr. Teoh is the principal inventor of 9 U.S. patents. He has worked in multiple fields throughout his career, including IC physical, architecture & system design; image processing and Object-Relational Database with applications to human interface devices; high speed router ASIC; CAD Methodology; design/process optimization; and Design For Manufacturability.
